Michelin trained chef, Matt Bouterey prepared a five course degustation matched to local wines, featuring perigord & bianchetto truffle as well as wild mushrooms. Matt’s philosophy is to use the freshest, locally grown produce as possible and is often found harvesting produce from local growers gardens. He ran Sugar Reef, owned by Marco Pierre-White in London, owned Boutereys Restaurant in Nelson and won Cuisine Magazine’s “Best Regional Restaurant” for three of those years. This years’ dinner was held at Saxton Oval in Richmond and lived up to its promises – to showcase the best food, wine and beer of the Nelson region.
