NZTA Conference: 17 to 19 May, Heritage Hotel Queenstown

The NZ Truffle Association is delighted to be hosting the 2024 Truffle Conference in Queenstown this year 17-19th May.

Earlybird has been extended to 29 April.  Over 50 attendees, come and join the crowd!

The conference is for you if:

  • You are curious about growing truffles, or
    You are interested in supporting the truffle sector/market, or
  • You are keen to start growing this mysterious product, or
  • You are a current grower interested in connecting and learning from experts and peers

Everyone is Welcome!

As always there is a great lineup of speakers and a strong focus on hearing from local growers who are growing Tuber melanosporum, Tuber aestivum/uncinatum and Tuber borchii across NZ.

There are three Friday workshops. Select one, two or select them all:

      • Workshop 1: If you are new or just interested in the industry –learn how to get started.
      • Workshop 2: If you are training your dog or just love dogs–learn about your dog’s potential.
      • Workshop 3: If you are producing and want to enhance your production, you can learn and trouble shoot with an expert.

The Saturday Conference Day is packed with International and national keynotes speakers and local growers on a variety of panels.

This year we have three keynote speakers:

      • Jaime Olaizola Suárez on Spanish innovations to increase production and reduce the lead time to reach the optimum truffle production.
      • Professor Paul Thomas from the UK focusing on Tuber aestivum and, a yet to be published research on 275 truffle hunts and optimizing harvest quantity and quality.
      • Dale Bowie, a development chef, who has worked in the World’s leading kitchens with Truffle sharing his view of its potential and the relationship between soil and flavor and temperature and taste.

We will also explore our potential in growing different types of truffles, the products we can create and the markets we can build.  With everything else happening, don’t forget to register for the special Saturday night Conference Dinner and the Sunday visit to a Truffière.

Register now for the 2024 Conference by completing the Registration form and returning it to treasurer@nztruffles.org.nz.  An invoice will be sent out to you for payment which can be completed through either Stripe or Banking Direct.

  • Saturday kicks off at 9am and
  • Sunday finishes at 12pm (with an optional lunch afterwards).
